Creating sub-menus in joomla

Creating sub menus in joomla is fairly easy . You don't need to have any html skills or knowledge .

Start with creating a content for your menu item. You can do this by creating a section in section manager , create a category in category manager linking it with the section you have made. Now go to article manager and make a new content linking it with the category .

Once your article is ready , go to main menu manger (or where ever you want your menu to appear. For our example we have selected main menu ) from menus toolbar , click on new .

You will be taken to the page where you are to select your menu item type. We have selected Article List Layout for example here.

After selecting your menu item type you are taken to the Menu Item Details page where you are to fill in the details of your menu . Write down the name of title in the title bar. You will see table " Parent menu" where you will see that top is selected by default. This is where you will determine where and how you want your menu created -----whether main menu or sub-menu.. For now , let's focus are attention to the right of title bar .

You will see table with Parameters in different configurations. Click on Basic Parameters if it is not selected. Select your article you want the menu to connect to .

Coming back to Parent menu , click on the menu item where you want your sub-menu to be. I have Put main menu as " Tips & Tutorials" and my sub menu will be Ebay Tips. You will see that the title in the picture is Ebay Tips and now I have selected from top to Tips & Tutorials .Click save .Your sub menu is ready .

In the main menu manager window , you will that there is a line from Ebay Tips going up to Tips & Tutorials. The line that is going up shows that the ebay tips is the sub menu of tips & tutorials.
