How to remove joomla default menu entries When you install the joomla with example pages , your joomla pages are loaded with default menu entries , just like the page below. These entries need to be changed as they are not relevant to our page or project.
Let's start by removing the menu items from the main menu which we then add with our own items later.. Leave the Home menu as it is. To remove the menu items from the main menu , click on Menu>>Menu Manager from the menu tool bar from your joomla admin area.On the menu manager page , click on the icon of main menu (first item) under the column Menu Items .Shown in red arrow 2 here.
In your Menu Item Manager page , you will see that there are few menu items published . Select on all the menu items except Home and click on Unpublish .
Now if you go back to your frontpage , you will see that all the menus ,except Home, have disappeared from main menu .You have successfully removed unwanted menu items from your main menu. Same method applies to al the menus.
